Champions for a Cure

Jan 24, 2025

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

We are visionaries; we have a vision for a world without cancer, but we need your help.

This year, we are proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. We are honored to share that we are candidates for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, which means we are leading Team Champions for a Cure to help cure blood cancers and help improve the quality of life of patients and families.

We got involved in LLS because we recently lost our aunt and uncle to cancer and saw how much this impacted our family. Every three minutes another person is diagnosed with blood cancer, and even more with other types of cancer. Unfortunately 30% don’t survive five years after they have been diagnosed with blood cancer. This really does need to change. That’s why we’re working with LLS to be able to help find a cure! LLS is relentless, agile, and determined to effect meaningful changes in the fight against blood cancers. They have helped patients and their families be able to find their voices. LLS helps to empower advocates across the country to share their stories and be able to prompt lawmakers to act on public policies and issues that matter to blood cancer patients and survivors- from improving access to treatments to promoting meaningful insurance coverage for patients and to help accelerate the speed of new cures. This mission is super important to help raise money for kids and their families to help them be able to win their fight against cancer.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining us in this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit our website often and tell friends who would also like to donate! Make your donation go even further and check to see if your company matches donations by visiting https://www.lls.org/ways-to-help/corporate-matching-gifts.

Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
